Week Without Walls- Spain

This year for my second and final WWW trip I decided to go to Spain. Last year I went to Laos and it was an amazing expierence, but this year I was looking for a different trip. My friend Vicky didn’t want to go to the Phillipnes my first choice, but I would rather be on a different trip with her then be on my first choice without her. So the final choice was Spain.

In Spain we did a lot of things, we went to Toledo and looked at different cathedrals, paintings and architecture. In one of the Cathedrals the art and design was really unbelievable. Later on that day we went to a mueseum back in Madrid called the Prado. The paintings were really detailed and fascinating but I was way to tired from the trip to Toledo to think straight. That day we also went on a  trip to the palace. The king and Queen of Spain don’t live there anymore, and I can see why.  The palace is HUGE! There are SO MANY indescribable rooms all with their own feelings and decor. Our tour guide mentioned that the King liked getting away and taking trips because back at home his food was always served to him cold because the kitchen was outside of the house and by the time it got to him it has already gone cold. My favorite day from the hole trip to Spain was a day in Madrid where we started off in the morning going on a segway tour around the city, then we had free time for about 3 hours, after that everyone went back to the hotel relaxed and off we were to the football match, FC Barcelona vs. Atletico Madrid.

During this WWW trip I learned that we should really take advantage of this opportunity to get to see monuments and history straight out of our textbook, this really hit me while Mrs. Pereira was talking to us about our bad behaviour because no one seemed to care that we were looking at things that we could just be learning about in a classroom reading off of a textbook. So after that sort of newflash, everything I saw was looked at differentley, instead of just being all “it’s just a painting” I was more curious as in why would the artist decide to do this or that to their piece of work. The trip wasn’t just art, we also saw the cities and lifestyle we ate Spanish food such as paella. It was a fun trip and Spain was a good way to finish my WWW expierence

Quotes

I hope life isn’t a big joke because I don’t get it- Jack Handey

I like this quote it made me laugh

I also thought this was one was pretty hilarous

You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy,the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America’s Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn’t want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named Bush, Dick, and Colon. — Comedian Chris Rock

Breast Cancer Blog

Since it’s the Breast Cancer Awarness month, I found this blog sort of interesting.

I was pregnant with my second child when I was first diagnosed with breast cancer. Unfortunately, I lost my unborn child, but not hope in having another baby. I knew that following my chemotherapy and radiation treatment, my doctor planned to put me on the drug tamoxifen for five years. I was already 34 years old. There was a chance that my body would be in permanent menopause at the end of the five years on tamoxifen. My husband and I didn’t want to take that chance.

Even though some women go on to have children after a breast cancer diagnosis, with my cancer being hormone-receptor positive (HR+), we weren’t comfortable with my carrying another pregnancy. We decided to use a surrogate to carry our baby for us.
